GCCA and CNCCO are currently gauging interest in including a cultural class on Sunday, June 29th, the day following the joint meeting on Saturday. We are searching to see how many would want to participate in a “Round Reed Basket” class with Pam Bakke from CNCCO. The class would take place at the Cherokee County History Center in Canton on Sunday (timeframe to be determined) and would take around 4 hours. As soon as possible, please send a response with your name and the names of any others that will be joining you to reserve seats for this class. Come join us in learning about Cherokee basket weaving. For those participating in this class, GCCA will work to build upon this class in future class gatherings of learning to find, identify, dry, and dye river cane that is native to Cherokee Culture.
We look forward to hearing from those interested. Wado!
